SAT閱讀短雙中的零態(tài)度

　　大家好，今天繼續(xù)和大家來討論一下SAT的短雙文章。大家逐漸會發(fā)現(xiàn)，SAT短雙的很多文章并非是態(tài)度十分明顯，就是并非是我們很喜歡的態(tài)度相互對立的那種文章，總會有一篇文章態(tài)度不太容易把握。接下來，我就帶著大家一起看真題中此類的文章。

　　2009年5月短雙

　　文章Passage 1

　　In a recent survey concerning plagiarism among scholars, two University of Alabama economists asked 1,200 of their colleagues if they believed their work had ever been stolen. A startling 40 percent answered yes. While not a random sample, the responses still represent hundreds of cases of alleged plagiarism. Very few of them will ever be dragged into the sunlight. That’s because academia often discourages victims form seeking justice, and when they do, tends to ignore their complaints. “It’s like cockroaches,” says the author of a recent book about academic fraud. “For every one you see on the floor, there are a hundred behind the stove”

　　大家讀完P(guān)assage 1后，經(jīng)常得出作者對plagiarism 是負態(tài)度 ，其實作者這是無奈地講述現(xiàn)狀的普遍，比如數(shù)據(jù) 40 percent answered yes 還有 discourage ignore 之類的一些詞。 所以文章1偏向于客觀的無奈。

　　Passage 2

　　Words belong to the person who wrote them. There are few simpler ethical notions than this, particularly as society directs more and more energy toward the creation of intellectual property. In the past 30 years, copyright laws have been strengthened, fighting piracy has become an obsession with Hollywood, and, in the worlds of academia and publishing, plagiarism has gone from being bad literary manners to something close to a felony. When a noted historian was recently found to have lifted passages from other historians, she was asked to resign form the board of the Pulitzer Prize committee. And why not? If she had robbed a bank, she would have been fired the next day.

　　文章2 態(tài)度很明確，負態(tài)度，完全不支持這種plagiarism. 讓我們一起來看一下這道題，

　　(A) Passage 1 advocates a strategy that Passage 2 considers outmoded

　　(B) Passage 1 envisions an idealistic condition that Passage 2 finds impossible

　　(C) Passage 1 provides a detached analysis to which Passage 2 responds with alarm

　　(D) Passage 1 describes a state of affairs that Passage 2 views as inexcusable.

　　(E) Passage 1 emphasizes the causes of a problem and Passage 2 emphasizes its effects.

　　五個選項中對Passage 2是比較合適負態(tài)度的只有C和D,但是C選項的alarm并非體現(xiàn)作者的完全的對立態(tài)度，只能是 D inexcusable比較合適。D對于passage 1的陳述也比較合適，就是客觀的分析。

Passage 1

　　The power of role-playing video games resides in the way in which they meld learning and identity. A player's taking on the identity of a character in a game constitutes a form of identification with the virtual character's world, story, and perspectives. The player projects his or her own hopes, values, and fears onto the characters that he or she is co-creating with the video game designers. Doing so allows the player to imagine a new identity born at the intersection of the player's real-world identities and the identity of the character. This new identity speaks to, and possibly transforms, the player's values.

　　Passage 2

　　Role-playing video games offer us many different contexts for presenting ourselves.

　　Those possibilities are particularly important for adolescents because they offer what psychologist Erik Erikson describes as a moratorium—a safe space for the personal experimentation that is so crucial in adolescent development. But some people who gain fluency in expressing multiple aspects of self may find it harder to develop authentic selves. Children who write narrarives for the characrers they play may grow upwith too little experience in how to share their real feelingswith other people. Role-playing video games have made it possible to have the illusion of companionship without the demands of friendship.

　　很多同學看完P(guān)1之后，就在考慮作者的態(tài)度是正還是負態(tài)度，其實SAT閱讀短雙文章不要一味的追求正負態(tài)度，很多是在辯證的分析，客觀地分析。上面這篇文章就是那種態(tài)度不明顯，只是客觀地在分析。所以大家要適應這種文章，不要習慣的去尋找正負態(tài)度。

　　當然P2的態(tài)度卻非常明顯，But轉(zhuǎn)折后，明顯的負態(tài)度。 所以讓我們一起來做一下雙篇態(tài)度題，

　　A. Passage 1 offers an analysis of an activity that Passage 2 suggests may be harmful

　　B. Passage 1 mounts an ardent defense of a hobby that Passage 2 portrays as frivolous

　　C. Passage 1 concedes that a position endorsed by Passage 2 has some validity

　　D. Passage 1 provides a social explanation for a phenomenon that Passage 2 argues is best understood psychologically

　　E. Passage 1 gives a simplified account of an experience that Passage 2 claims is extremely complex.

　　做這道題時，很多同學對于P2的負態(tài)度比較明確，所以很容易找出A選項，但是大家又會覺得an analysis 有些不大合適，其實另外四個選項更不合適。這是比較簡單的一道題。我們繼續(xù)看后面的，
