Your friend is concerned about a presentation that he has to give in class. What advice would you give your friend to help him or her prepare for the presentation? Explain why. Please include details and examples in your explanation.?

托福口語Sample answer:
I would suggest my friend to research his topic of presentation in the first place. Because he needs to familiarize himself with the topic, and even becomes the expert of the topic. After a careful researches on the internet, he will have a general idea of what he tends to include in the presentation and what is not. Second, he’d better make use of PPT as a visual aid to demonstrate his presentation. There is no need to make a beautiful PPT with fancy pictures, but it has to be clear-cut in points so that the audience can easily pick up his main idea. Finally, he might as well practice his approach of delivering the presentation, say, his pacing, his flow of speech, his eye contact with the audience, as well as his body languages.

Your friend would like to invite people over at their place for a dinner party. What advice would you give your friend and why? Please include reasons and examples in your explanation.

托�？谡ZSample answer:
Personally I would suggest my friend to take a bottle of red wine with his as a gift to the house owner. Since it is a common sense in the western world that if you go to a party held in a person’s house, you have to bring something as a gift to the house owner as a gesture of the appreciation of his good will and hospitality. The things you can bring varies, for example, you can bring a bottle of red wine, or a bucket of muffin you made at home. The meaning of this gift is not for the need of the party, but for the purpose of showing your gratitude and politeness. I think my friend have no idea of this background knowledge, therefore I advise him to take a bottle of red wine with him when he goes to the dinner party.
