I’d like to share with you a piece of special and never-seen-before news I watched during last Spring Festival back in my hometown. I saw it on the social media one day when I was refreshing pages to see some new posts. Suddenly, my attention was grabbed by a news titled Chinese youth making their voice heard on the metro station. A young group was reported to take a new tact with buying advertisement space on the metro to speak out against the pushy parents and relatives several days ahead of the Chinese Spring Festival. During the Chinese New Year many Chinese parents apply pressure on their children about their marriage prospects. Some young Chinese used to get the parents off their back by hiring fake boyfriends or girlfriends. The situation was a little different this year.
I was so impressed because the youngsters were taking actions to push back against the practice instead of obeying their parents rules and conforming to their expectations unconditionally. I realized that pushy parents cannot always be justified and one can also be happy being single.
所以下次再當你沒話講的時候，不是你不行，而是你不夠努力。
