When people make a decision, some people would like to seek advice from other people while others like to make the decision based own their own experiences and knowledge. Which way do you prefer?
　　Sample answer: I would prefer to make a decision after seeking advice from others, because it’s more likely for me to be rational and objective. For example, two years ago, I was considering dropping out of university because I thought it was useless and some of the lectures were quite boring anyway. I asked my brother who has quit school for advice. To my surprise, he strongly opposed my decision, since he found out that it was hardly possible for him to find a decent job after leaving school, due to his lack of experience and university’s degree. Consequently, he could only stayed at home for a while and worked as a restaurant waiter. I followed his suggestion and decided to carry on my study. If not for my brother, I would have made a wrong decision that probably made me regretful.

　　Sample answer: I would choose to take a financial course which can help me manage money, because it allows me to spend my money more wisely. For example, my cousin used to squander money when he went shopping. I remember that last year, he went to a shopping mall and he saw a super expensive luxury bag which cost him around 3,000 dollars. However, he didn’t really need that bag. He just wanted to buy it for fun. After purchasing, he realized that it was not his type. Therefore, he didn’t use that bag for a single time. If he had taken a financial course to learn to manage money, he could have saved the money he had spent on the bag.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Before they decide to enter a particular career, students should take a part-time job or summer employment related with this career.
　　Sample answer: I agree with the statement, because when students are equipped with working experience, it’s more likely for them to be more competitive in terms of finding a job. For example, two years ago, my cousin took a part-time job as a home tutor for primary school kids in the summer vacation, as he majored in math and he wanted to become a math teacher after graduation. During that two months, he learned how to deal with children in a more patient way and tried to help solve their problems by using an easier and more effective approach. After he graduated, he quickly found a job in a local primary school because he was more advantageous compared to other applicants.

Do you like to travel alone or travel with your family members? Explain why.
　　Sample answer: I prefer to travel by myself because it’s more likely to have disagreements with family members if we travel together. For example, two years ago, I went to the Yellow Mountains with my parents. When we arrived there, however, they wanted to climb the mountain while I preferred to stay in the hotel and enjoy the hot spring for the first day. It was really hard for us to reach consensus as we insisted on our own ideas. Finally, they went up to the peak by themselves and I lived in the resort for the whole day. After we came back home, I realized that it was unwise to travel with families because we had different concepts. If I had been there alone, I didn’t need to worry about the possible disagreements. On the contrary, I would have had a great trip to the Yellow Mountains.
