A青少年犯罪

The rate of juvenile delinquency has been rising. What are the causes of this trend? Suggest some possible solutions to it.

原因：

家庭方面：
　　不穩(wěn)定的家庭生活unstable family life,單親家庭增多single-parent households，孩子情感需求無(wú)法得到滿足emotional needs left unattended。 父母對(duì)孩子的教育不夠妥善improper parental care，過分溺愛孩子，導(dǎo)致孩子為所欲為。
　　家庭暴力使孩子形成畸形的心理狀態(tài)，導(dǎo)致其走向暴力和犯罪。甚至有些家長(zhǎng)虐待孩子，將其作為發(fā)泄的工具more and more parents show an inclination to abuse their children and treat them as an outlet of stress

教育方面：
　　獲得教育的機(jī)會(huì)不夠limited access to education,小孩沒有得到及時(shí)正確的引導(dǎo)導(dǎo)致其產(chǎn)生不良行為serious misconduct

社會(huì)方面：
　　媒體暴力media violence(Many studies have made it clear that the upsurge in televised violence and the video games that have violence as the main theme is closely linked to young adults’ aggressive behaviors)、失業(yè)率unemployment rate、同齡群體的影響delinquent peer group;年輕人對(duì)物質(zhì)財(cái)富、奢侈的生活方式的強(qiáng)烈追求a strong desire for material wealth and luxury lifestyles導(dǎo)致其不擇手段illegitimate means。

解決方法：
　　家庭方面：關(guān)注孩子的成長(zhǎng)，采取正確的教育方式。
　　教育方面：提供良好的教育機(jī)會(huì)和環(huán)境provide favorable educational opportunities and environment
　　社會(huì)方面：對(duì)于有嚴(yán)重的犯罪記錄的青少年，也要加強(qiáng)法律的制裁 for those who commit serious violent crimes, they should be sentenced to prison for community service is not a sufficient deterrent to prevent them from reoffending.

B教育還是監(jiān)獄

Some people think that education and training are more effective ways to deal with criminals than sending them to prison. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

支持教育
　　1、教育可以使人有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力become competitive，增加就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)，因此有效降低犯罪率lower the crime rate
　　2、良好的道德可以幫助人們特別是青少年形成各種良好的道德觀念develop moral values such as kindness, honesty, fairness, tolerance and respect for others, can tell right from wrong

支持監(jiān)獄
　　1、監(jiān)獄可以讓囚犯收到懲罰。They will be punished for the crime they committed. They also lost their freedom, which can prevent them from committing further crimes outside prison for the duration of the prison term. They will also feel remorseful for their criminal acts.

2、對(duì)沒發(fā)生的罪犯行為有震懾作用the threat of imprisonment is a powerful deterrent against future crime.

題目：Some people think that teenagers should be given the same punishment as adult criminals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

支持與成年人處罰不同:
　　1. immature/naive/cannot distinguish right from wrong/it is easy for them to be misled/ go astray—Adults have received sufficient education and they have free will. They are well aware of what they have done. Compared with those hardened criminals who deliberately break the law, it is unfair to give juvenile delinquents the same punishment. For example…The Hero in Les Miserable

2.  Teenagers’ life can be totally devastated if they are penalised in the same way as those rational and mature adult criminals. Juvenile delinquents can be educated and converted to someone who can contribute to the well-being of the society. Unlike adults who may be too old to be changed, young wrongdoers are moldable.

支持與成年人處罰相同:
　　some one argue that if teenager criminals get favorable treatment, more juvenile criminals may not feel intimidated… In addition, some adults may take advantage of the loophole and abet some children or teenagers to break the law. For example, many children in China are organised and educated to steal or even rob pedestrians on the street.
