托福寫作:考情跟蹤之對比類新話題揭秘

對托福有所了解的同學(xué)們可能都知道，托福寫作部分的重考率蠻高的。但是自從2012年開始，有一種新型話題----時間對比性話題崛起了， 每個題目都有點相似，但又有點不同。這一類題目經(jīng)過總結(jié)，其實可以很好的進(jìn)行論點論據(jù)上的共享。以下是2013年的部分 此類話題：

看了這5個話題之后，大家應(yīng)該已經(jīng)找到共同點和不同點了： 每個話題都在表述現(xiàn)在的某種現(xiàn)象和過去進(jìn)行對比。雖然比較的對象不太一樣，但我們可以對“當(dāng)下”的特點和“過去”的特點進(jìn)行一個概括。

“當(dāng)下”的特點: the present is marked by/is characterized by

1.         科技發(fā)展 the technological progress

2.         醫(yī)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的突破 the constant breakthrough in medical treatment

3.         生活水平的提高 the rise of life level

4.         生活必需品的便捷 easy access to daily necessity

5.         生活節(jié)奏的加快 the fast rhythm of life

6.         人口流動的增加 the high population mobility

7.         信息的普及 the prevalence of information

8.         各方面意識的提升：the growing awareness in various aspects: the emphasis on competition/ cooperation/ health/ education

當(dāng)然，這只是部分當(dāng)下的特點，大家還可以根據(jù)自己的體會再增加一些內(nèi)容。 總之，對現(xiàn)在的總結(jié)其實是基礎(chǔ)對過去的總結(jié)。因此，我們現(xiàn)在來解開上面每個話題的參考答案。

Reason1:　The popularity of/easy access to mass media encourages young people to provide more assistance for those in need than several decades ago.

 Reason3: in a society where people attach much importance to the significance of cooperation, young adults tend to have more opportunities to help others, such as their teammates.

Young people today are more likely to give time and effort to improve the world than young people were in the past. 2013年3月3日 

 Thesis statement: the modern society provides more conditions for young adults to be committed to the improvement of the world.

 Reason 1: easy access to various means of transportation makes it possible for the young to get together to make joint effort to create a much more desirable world. (e.g. assistance to improve schooling or medical treatment in backward areas )

 Reason 2: modern society is characterized by high level of affluence which enables young people to change the world for the better. (e.g. render financial assistance to those who are in need)

 Reason 3: the current emphasis on environmental protection raises young people’ consciousness to focus on the alleviation of environmental problems

Thesis statement: it is of greater possibility for contemporary parents to bring up children.

Reason 1: the elevation of life standard contributes to sound physical development of children

 Thesis statement: today’s people show much more kindness to others.

 1: mass media enables individuals of different backgrounds to have better understanding of each other. Therefore, they tend to show more hospitality in exchange for mutual respect.

 2, in a society where people attach much significance on collaboration, individuals incline to be more friendly to others, such as team members and friends.

 3, the improvement of life level makes it possible for people to be more friendly to others, even to strangers.

 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

People rely on their neighbors less than people in the past. 2013年7月13日

 Thesis statement: in stark contrast to the past, people are less likely to turn to neighbors for help.

 Reason1: Easy access to various daily necessities leads individuals to estrange from neighbors. (Supermarket/ grocery / gas station/ pharmacies)

 Reason 2: The popularity of telecommunication facilitates people’s access to relatives or friends, which definitely alienates them from neighbors.

 Reason 3: People have intentionally/consciously chosen to depend less on neighbors for one reason or another. (People today are more likely to move from one place to another frequently. / there is less trust between strangers)
