上文我們提到,在托福獨立寫作當中,時間的把握對我們相當?shù)刂匾,把握好了時間,就把握好了分數(shù)。今天這一講將繼續(xù)探討怎樣用時間的策略去贏得高分。
    在敲完一個獨立寫作的基本結(jié)構(gòu)的時候,考生應該在心里面就有了個底了。整體的結(jié)構(gòu)現(xiàn)在就剩下要去填充具體的內(nèi)容了。接下來這講我們的重點就是Supporting details和Supporting example(s)。
接著上面我們寫到的outline:
Planning and creating your initial outline:

[Intro] Personally, I agree with the idea of granting one long vacation per year rather than allowing several shorter vacation periods.

[B1] To begin with, a longer vacation can be equated to more comprehensive rest from study.

[B2] In addition, I think a longer vacation period provides better opportunities to pursue short-term employment or work experience.

[B3] Finally, I feel that one vacation period will help to make the semester system at schools more effective for actual study and learning.

[Concl] To sum up, these factors lead me to believe that a single vacation period of longer duration would be preferable to a schedule of several shorter vacations throughout the year.
     下面我們要考慮的就是在哪個論證的段落里面你可以先補充細節(jié)和例子?梢韵认氲侥膫好寫點就在那一個上面進行補充。例如,考生假如先想到第二個論證段里面的細節(jié)和例子,那么就可以在第二段論證段里面先敲打自己的內(nèi)容。
[B2] In addition, I think a longer vacation period provides better opportunities to pursue short-term employment or work experience. Getting paid work is very helpful to young college students, both to help fund their studies and/or to gain valuable work experience to supplement the focus of their majors. It isn’t always easy to arrange work or – for that matter – actual job interviews for students. It takes time to look for and then apply for work. In addition, employers are more likely to be looking for people who can work for an entire month or even a couple of months with them – not 1-2 weeks. Consider, for example, students in law, business, scientific research or engineering trying to secure short-term work that is relevant to their field of study. It would involve a complicated process of searching for work opportunities, establishing contacts, preparing for formal interviews and waiting for the right type of position to come up.
     再寫完第二段論證段的細節(jié)和例子之后,可能第一段的細節(jié)或者第三段的例子也已經(jīng)順利構(gòu)思完畢了,那么這時候就可以緊跟著就往下寫了。
[B1] To begin with, a longer vacation can be equated to more comprehensive rest from study. In most current education models, vacation periods can be as short as a couple of days to 1-2 weeks. I think for a lot of students, they are only really starting to unwind and truly relax at the end of this vacation time, and suddenly they are faced with going back to their studies again. From my own experience at university, I never really managed to feel completely rested during the mid-year vacation periods. In fact, a lot of the time I felt like I was more exhausted at the end of this brief break than I was at the start of it!
[B3] Finally, I feel that one vacation period will help to make the semester system at schools more effective for actual study and learning. For a lot of colleges, there are so many stops and starts throughout the academic year that it can be hard to arrange and schedule course content effectively without there being constant interruptions to the study schedule. According to my own experience, I actually felt that sometimes course conveners were trying to squeeze too much into some periods and very little into others. It was very hard to get an even rhythm or actually plan ahead based on the up-and-down nature of the workload. I think this could be alleviated with one longer vacation period, because it could possibly result in longer, more sustained periods of study during the regular semesters as well.
     在寫的過程中,有些學生對說理性論證比較有話說,有些學生對例子闡述比較擅長,這個時候也可以考慮采取另外一個策略,那就是調(diào)整細節(jié)和例子之間的順序。例如,我們可以看第三個論證段:

According to my own experience, I actually felt that sometimes course conveners were trying to squeeze too much into some periods and very little into others. It was very hard to get an even rhythm or actually plan ahead based on the up-and-down nature of the workload. This demonstrates how, for a lot of colleges, there are so many stops and starts throughout the academic year that it can be hard to arrange and schedule course content effectively without there being constant interruptions to the study schedule. I think this could be alleviated with one longer vacation period, because it could possibly result in longer, more sustained periods of study during the regular semesters as well.

這一些技巧都可以幫助到考生在緊張的敲字過程中讓考生意識到自己每一秒中在做什么。哪些是需要調(diào)整的,哪些是可以添加的等等。當論證段的Supporting details和Supporting example(s)敲打完畢之后,時間最好控制在22-25分鐘。這樣,剩下的時間我們就可以來補充開頭和結(jié)尾了。在有了論證段的基礎(chǔ)上,補充開頭和結(jié)尾也就比較有底氣了。我們會在下文當中會繼續(xù)探討怎樣寫開頭和結(jié)尾,敬請關(guān)注。
