雅思閱讀理解句子太難該怎么辦？

在雅思閱讀當中有40個題目，對應原文大概有40左右的句子需要我們去理解，那么在碰到那些本身含有一些不熟悉的單詞，句法又很復雜的長難句時我們該如何處理?

比如劍12 Test 8 Passage2當中的一個長難句：

The knock-on effect of this scrutiny has been to make the governance of companies in general an issue of intense public debate and has significantly increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

Key words：

knock-on effect 沖擊

scrutiny [？skrutni] n. 仔細檢查;徹底審查

director n. 主管; 董事; 負責人; 導演;

make/find +sth.+n./adj.(補語，補充說明前面的賓語sth)

這個句子看似很長其實主干部分是：

The knock-on effect has been to make the governance an issue and has increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

可以把這分成兩個句子結構：

1.The knock-on effect has been to make the governance an issue.

2.The knock-on effect has increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

第1個句子是這樣一個句子結構：主語+make +sth.+n./adj.(補語，補充說明前面的賓語sth)

那么這個句子也就不難理解了：這個沖擊使得管理成為了話題。

什么樣的沖擊?管理?對什么的管理?話題又是怎樣的話題?

* The knock-on effect of this scrutiny：這種審查帶來的沖擊;

* the governance of companies in general：通常對于公司的管理;

* an issue of intense public debate：公眾熱議的話題

因此第1句話可以這樣理解：這種審查帶來的沖擊就是使公司的管理成為公眾熱議的話題

第2個句子說中的難點在于理解the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors這個短語的結構，這部分是省略結構：當介詞賓語結構中賓語一樣時，可以把前面的賓語省略，留著最后一個賓語就可以。

* the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors ：董事的壓力和責任

* significantly increased：極大地增加了

因此第二個句子結構可以這樣理解：這種審查帶來的沖擊極大增加了董事的壓力及責任。

拆分下來，這個長難句看起來也沒有這么難理解：這種審查帶來的沖擊就是使公司的管理成為公眾熱議的話題，這極大增加了董事的壓力及責任。
