托福獨(dú)立寫作評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中,well-organized指的是我們的文章分段有序,即文章的段落框架要十分清晰讓考官能夠迅速了解段落的內(nèi)容和闡述的內(nèi)容。
同時(shí)well-developed and clearly appropriate explanations指的是有支持你的觀點(diǎn)的具體原因,同時(shí)要有足夠的論據(jù)去證明你的觀點(diǎn),有點(diǎn)類似于我們?cè)谵q論中的“論點(diǎn)+論據(jù)”。
那么什么樣的文章算是well-organized呢?那我們一起來看下面的文章。
題目:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Sample:
首先,開頭段引入寫作題目,并且表明自己的觀點(diǎn)。
A student’s education does not only consist of learning academic subjects. It is also important for students to develop other skills, such as teamwork, and healthy habits that will last them a lifetime. One way to do this is to encourage more participation in sports activities. Although it is important to provide adequate funding for academic services such as the school library, I believe it is important to fund sports activities equally(自己觀點(diǎn)).
中間Body段主要是展開自己的論述,主要內(nèi)容為是支持自己觀點(diǎn)的原因以及相關(guān)的解釋(Opinion+Details)
A student’s primary education goal is to pursue knowledge. Therefore, the school library is very important. However, the resources that a library buys are long-lasting. In addition, students now have resources other than the school library to support their studies(具體原因). For example(舉例論證), many students have their own computers and access to the Internet in order to search for the information and material they demand, through which they may figure out their academic issues instead of the library.
Ideally, a school should provide its students with a well- balanced education that helps them develop all of their skills. For this reason, it is important that schools do not ignore sports activities. Setting aside more money for these activities may improve the students` physical condition effectively(原因2). For instance(舉例論證), after providing various sports facilities, including gym, basketball court and soccer field, students would feel more motivated to participate in these sports activities, which can strengthen their body function obviously. To name one, they can improve lung capacity via running and physical flexibility through those ball games.
Furthermore, if putting more fund on sports activities, university may provide students with plenty of recreation.(原因3) As for students, sports may be treated as an excellent method to unwind. To explain more, when taking different sports, they can take a rest from their overwhelming academic load and lift up their spirit(因果論證). After doing sports, they are able to release their daily stress and remain an energetic state to embrace the upcoming daily life.
In conclusion(結(jié)尾段), universites should definitely spend the same amount of money on sports activites, since the students can benefit from it to large extent both physically and mentally.
從上面的文章來看,我們每一段的格式都相對(duì)比較固定,
1. 開頭段引入題目,并且表達(dá)自己觀點(diǎn);
2. 主體段的第一句話是分論點(diǎn)。這點(diǎn)和中國不一樣,中國學(xué)生寫議論文習(xí)慣于把分論點(diǎn)往后放,甚至強(qiáng)調(diào)留白的藝術(shù),不給出明確的表達(dá)態(tài)度的分論點(diǎn),所以需要特別注意。well developed要求的是分論點(diǎn)的展開,展開的過程中需要有充足的例子,解釋,細(xì)節(jié)(using clearly appropriate explanations, exemplification, and/or details)等,這就又涉及到論證方式,論證過程一定要由主要到次要,或者由抽象到具體,有自己的行文邏輯,不可以想起什么就寫什么,這樣就會(huì)造成讀者的誤解,迷茫。
3. 最后一段為結(jié)尾段,用于大致總結(jié)我們的所寫到的內(nèi)容,為整個(gè)文章畫上一個(gè)句號(hào)。
