媒體類(lèi)

1. Advertising discourages us from being different individuals by making them want to be or to look the same. Do you agree or disagree?

2. There are many advertisements directed at children, such as snacks, toys and other goods. Parents argue that children are under pressure. Advertisers claim that the advertisements provide useful information. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

3. Some people think having more TV channels is good because they will have more choices, while others think it is not good because programs’ quality is lower. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

4. Advertising has many positive economic effects. However, others say it also has some negative effects to the society, because it will make people feel dissatisfied about who they are and what they have. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

5. The government should control the amount of violence in films and on television in order to decrease the level of violent crime in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

6. In some countries, the criminal trials are shown on TV and the general public can watch them. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

6. As well as making money, businesses should also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?

7. Some people think that best way to improve road safety is to increase the minimum legal age for driving cars and motorcycles. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

2.In many countries, fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and crude oil are the main source of energy, while in some other countries, the use of alternative sources of energy such as wind power and solar energy is increasingly encourag ed. To what extent do you think this is a positive development?

3.Some people think that the amount of noise people make have to be controlled strictly, while others say that people are free to smoke as much noise as they wish. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

4.Scientists and tourists can travel to remote natural environments such as the South Pole. Do you think the advantages outweigh its disadvantages?

5.The increase in the production of consumer goods results in damage to the natural environment. What are the causes of this? What can be done to solve this problem?

6.Developments of technology are causing environmental problems. Some people think that solution is that everyone accepts a simpler life, while others believe that technology can solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

1. Some people think that the increasing use of computers and mobile phones for communication has had a negative effect on young people’s reading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

2. The range and quality of food have chang ed because of technological and scientific advances. Some people think the range of quality of food have improved, while others think these changes would be harmful. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

3. The use of mobile phones is anti-social like smoking. Since smoking is banned in certain places, using mobile phones should be banned as well. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
