托福閱讀中藝術(shù)類文章怎么破？

藝術(shù)（Art）一詞源自拉丁文ars，意為“技巧”，該詞現(xiàn)在衍生出很多新的定義，不過不管出現(xiàn)多少新定義，都不能回避藝術(shù)這一詞匯的原意。

美，在甲骨文和《說文解字》中查到，就是“羊人為美”、“羊大則美”，其意為戴著羊頭面具的人是美，大的羊是美，說明美與人對事物的感受有直接聯(lián)系。在原始社會里，羊肉可以食用，羊奶可以解渴，羊毛可以御寒，羊象征著使人愉快的事物，也就是說，凡是能夠使人愉快的欣賞對象都可以叫“美”。

在我們的出國語言考試中，藝術(shù)歷史類背景文本在雅思閱讀和托福閱讀中多次出現(xiàn)，這樣的材料對于大多數(shù)理工科同學(xué)來說都非常頭疼，學(xué)生往往會說：翻譯成漢語我都不知道這篇文章想表達(dá)什么。比如劍10中一篇閱讀對于博物館陳列和藝術(shù)品真跡與再版的討論，比如托福TPO40介紹The origins of writing, 提及了Assyrian亞述人；TPO42講述古希臘雕塑，提到了August屋大維和Michelangelo。

托福閱讀中藝術(shù)類文章怎么破？每當(dāng)同學(xué)請教這個(gè)問題，我通常會講“最短平快的見效方法就是記憶學(xué)科詞匯”，然而當(dāng)我們把承載著大師們天賦與情感的藝術(shù)僅僅用幾個(gè)抽象名詞表示的時(shí)候，可能是最拙劣的方法。所以，在時(shí)間允許的情況下，如果能接觸藝術(shù)，適當(dāng)看幾次展覽，可能事半功倍。
