Recently I watched a movie called Hatchi at home with my parents. The film was highly recommended by many of my friends several times, so I was very looking forward to watching it. Last month, I finally squeezed some time to watch it.
The English-language movie was released in the USA, but it was adapted from a true story in Japan. Even though it was not a blockbuster in that year, it actually won many people’s favor. The story of the movie was simple but very touching. Mr. Parker raised a stray dog named Hatchi. Every morning, Hatchi walked with Parker to the station where Parker took a train to work. And in the afternoon, Hatchi returned to the station to meet Parker after work. Unfortunately one day, Parker died of heart attack in his workplace and never be able to come back to the station to go home. Hatchi of course knew nothing about it and still went to the station everyday to wait for his beloved owner. He had waited for nine years until the last day he died.
After watching it, I couldn’t help crying for the deep love between the loyal dog and Mr. Parker. It tells the theme that animals can also be good companions and friends to human beings. Also, it tries to teach people to treasure them. Nowadays, some people even enjoy animal abuse. Their inhuman behavior should be condemned and learn to be friendly to them.
