題目：
　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important for the government to spend money on new buildings than to preserve historic or traditional buildings and homes.
范文：
　　From my perspective I have a really hard time agreeing or disagreeing to the above statement, seeing as I respect the fact that historical buildings and homes play an important part in a country’s history. On the other hand, I also believe that we shouldn’t let the past, including historical or traditional buildings, hinder us from developing into a more modern society.
　　For this reason I propose that we compromise and try to preserve a certain amount of historical and traditional buildings with a greater sentimental and cultural value. In addition to that I strongly believe that it is wrong to demolish the ones that were not chosen to be preserved, but providedthat they start to fall apart or threaten the safety of the public in any way they should be taken care of.
　　That being said, I also think that instead of preserving buildings in several places the government could try to focus on a specific part, that way it would almost feel like going back in time once you enter that part of the city or country. I also believe that this will help improve the general appearance of the city area, seeing as one old building in the middle of several modern buildings look really out of place.
　　If we put all of our moral values aside I think that the majority of the general population could relate to the way I think, seeing as people have become accustomed to a certain level of life now. If the government did not spend money on new buildings, or on improving new buildings, not many of our homes would have working sewer systems , high speed internet, running water or stable electricity.
In short, preserving historic and traditional buildings, including homes, is something that should be done to a certain extent. A country’s architecture is a part of the country’s heart. What would China be without the Great Wall and what would Germany be without the medieval city Regensburg? Nevertheless, keeping traditional and cultural value should not come at the expense of a modern society.
