Do you prefer live concert or music recording?

是喜歡參加現(xiàn)場(chǎng)音樂(lè)會(huì)還是喜歡聽(tīng)音樂(lè)錄音。

選擇前者，支持的理由可以是現(xiàn)場(chǎng)音樂(lè)會(huì)的感覺(jué)更加真實(shí)，現(xiàn)場(chǎng)可以和其他觀眾與歌手互動(dòng)，氣氛會(huì)很高漲;選擇后者的理由是，隨時(shí)隨地都可以聽(tīng) music recordings，沒(méi)有地點(diǎn)時(shí)間的限制，并且一個(gè)人聽(tīng)的時(shí)候，能夠更好地去欣賞音樂(lè)歌曲。

spot light effect

Uncomfortable worries that one may have when one makes some mistake when in social activities

閱讀文章講述一種現(xiàn)象叫 spot light effect，指的是當(dāng)人們?cè)谏鐣?huì)活動(dòng)中犯錯(cuò)的時(shí)候，會(huì)感到不安和焦慮。

Lecture: the professor overturned water when he had dinner with new people, so he feel embarrassed and may left a bad impression on them, but when they meet later, they said it was ok.

講座內(nèi)容中教授以自身的經(jīng)歷為例，說(shuō)道他在和新朋友吃飯的時(shí)候打翻了水，當(dāng)時(shí)感到非常的尷尬，覺(jué)得自己會(huì)給對(duì)方留下不好的印象。但其實(shí)，當(dāng)教授和那些朋友再次見(jiàn)面的時(shí)候，他們沒(méi)有把教授的 mistake 放在心上。

Task Five

Problem: Beth wants see her friend: drive car or take a bus

Two solutions:

1) Car: have no place to park, but more convenient to play around

2) Bus: take long time to wait, so that cannot have dinner with her friend

Beth 面臨的選擇：她想去看她的朋友，但不知道選擇哪種交通工具。

兩種選擇：

一是選擇 car, car 非常方便能開(kāi)到周?chē)�去玩，但是沒(méi)有地方停車(chē);

二是選擇 bus, 但是乘公交需要花費(fèi)很長(zhǎng)的時(shí)間，這樣她就沒(méi)有辦法和她的朋友吃飯了。

需選擇一個(gè) option 并解釋清楚為何支持 Beth 選這個(gè)解決方案。

Task Six

Hoe Alpine plant survive in harsh places

1) Grow lower so that prevent the damage from high wind

2) Have wax on the leave to hold water and prevent evaporation

閱讀文本講述了 Hoe Alpine plant 這種植物能夠在環(huán)境很惡劣的環(huán)境生存。聽(tīng)力講座中教授講述了該植物的兩個(gè)特。一是該植物非常低，這樣就可以避免 high wind，而是該植物的葉子上有蠟，這樣就可以留住水分，避免蒸發(fā)。
