雅思口語Part1

1). What sort of weather do you like least?
  Well, I hate rainy days most, especially when it rains for several days in a row. On one hand, it’s a lot more inconvenient to go outside since I need to bring an umbrella all the time and my shoes would get wet. On the other hand, I would sometimes feel gloomy for no reason, and the pressure from work would easily weigh me down. .

2). What sounds do you dislike?
  Well, I hate the noise caused by construction work or transport. For starters, it makes me anxious because I cannot focus on my study, and it even drives me crazy when I am going to bed. What’s more, it might increase the risk of going deaf.

Describe a subject you didn’t like.
  You should say:
  what it was
  when you studied the subject
  why you didn't like it before
  And explain why you have interest in it now.

Sample answer:
  Response:
  When it comes to a subject that I was not into, I would like to talk about biology. In fact, it had been bothering me for more than three years ever since my junior high school. To be more specific, I took no interest in it and would always doze off during almost every biology course.

My reasons for disliking this subject are as follows.

In terms of the subject, I felt intimidated before those complicated biological terminologies. I mean, I would spend hours memorizing them, only to find those words slip my mind during exams.

For instance, I was supposed to remember the DNA sequence in order to master the chapter of genetics. However, I just couldn’t concentrate on the content, and kept wandering off during the class. And you know what? I failed in the final exam, and it even discouraged me to make further efforts on the course.

As to the biology teacher, I felt she was rather boring and strict. She was always reading from her textbook in the class without interacting with us.

For example, when she was explaining “frogs”, she just stood in the front of the room and lecturing, “a frog is a type of animal known as an amphibian”. Well, this was not necessarily going to keep my attention, was it?

Luckily, I had a new biology teacher when I began my senior high, and amazingly, his teaching method was totally different from the previous teacher’s.

The new teacher would make his classes as vivid as possible, which inspired my passion in this subject.

In one course, he pulled a live frog out of his brief case, and described it while holding it up, like how long its legs were and how they were used for jumping. He even let the frog jump around a bit on the desk. Thanks to his teaching, my fear in biology changed into enthusiasm.

雅思口語Part3

Q: How to develop interest in a school subject?
  A: Well I believe that will involve a wide range of efforts here. As for the teachers, they shall have more interaction with the students, so as to make the students involved in class and stimulate their interest in the given subject. Besides, it’s advisable for teachers to relate the theoretic knowledge to everyday experience, thus the students can gain a more specific idea in a practical way. For example, the teacher can tell girls how to lose weight when explaining different nutrients in biology.

Q: How to learn English in a fun way?
  A: Well, the most sensible way is to find learning materials that would trigger one’s interest, like watching American teen series, listening to English songs or playing popular games. On top of that, students can also join some English clubs or talk with foreigners, since they will feel at ease when talking to someone other than teachers, and they will gradually feel confident to talk in English.
