綜合寫作參考答案

The reading has discussed three possible reasons why the British ship, Mary Rose, sank, but none of the three reasons seem to have precisely analyzed the disaster.

Firstly, from the perspective of gunport, the professor states his doubt, because according to the lecture, it argues that the cannonball is still in the gun, and it contrasts the evidence provided in the reading, which says as the door of gunport was improperly closed, the ship was thus ruined.

Secondly, judging from crew relationship, the professor holds a different view, because referring to the lecture, all the crew on the ship, a flagship, were so well-trained and professional to disobey the order of the Capitan, no matter whether they liked him.

Thirdly, on the point of the French attack, the professor never fails to express his concern, because in terms of the lecture, the French officer’ claim that the ship sank under the attack of their warship was on strong political motives. In precise, the claim indicates the French ship was superior to that of Britain.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to finish a project completely and then begin another project than to work on two or more projects at the same time. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

參考答案

Some people may hold the idea that dealing with two or more projects at the same time is a best choice, especially in such a kind of fast-paced society. They make such a choice, just because they regard it as time-saving. However, in my points of view, I agree with the statement that it's better to finish one project and then go on to another.

First of all, keeping on the same project means concentration and devotion, and then the project could be dealt with in a much more smooth way. According to an old Chinese saying, "One heart could not be broken into two", such conclusion comes from long-time daily practice. When we are focusing on one project, efficiency comes along with concentration and even if at the beginning, those who start multiple tasks at the same time may seem to surpass us, one project after another will work effectively and efficiently. So, it might save more time if we keep working on the same project at the same time period.

Moreover, keeping on the same project may avoid mistakes and confusions in alternative tasks. In contrast to the concentration in a single project, several tasks require extra attention to match project with its respective details, and it is a distraction. To make it worse, when one detail unfortunately mixes with another, both of the two projects which the respective details belong to are ruined. Take my brother for example. He once tried to finish math and Chinese assignments at the same time. But the poor boy was too careless to write the Chinese essay on the blank reserved for math solutions. And the result is expected.

Furthermore, one project after another may measure efficiency more precisely. In specific, when a multiple of tasks have to start at the same time, we are less aware of the exact progress of each project, which means, if we are overloaded with tasks, as we have little statistics to prove that, we may have to take that. Take my school for example. The math teacher gave us two papers a day, and the Chinese teacher one, as well as two other from the English teacher. Students were not sure whether that was an proper amount of assignment, but as it was a multiple task, we could not be certain. The only way was to follow the instructions.

To conclude, a project every time secures concentration, avoids confusion, and measures efficiency. Therefore, it is regarded as a better way to deal with several tasks.
