Some people think it is better for students to live with their parents at home rather than in school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, many parents send their children to boarding schools.

Nowadays, many parents send their children to boarding schools. Some people believe that students should live at home instead of living in school. However, in my point of view, I think that living in school is better for children’s growth. 

To begin with, living in boarding school can help children become more independent. When children live at school, they can not rely on their parents any more and have to deal with all problems by themselves. As a result, they become mature very fast.  For example，in China, many students are the only child of their families. They are often spoiled by their parents. After they are sent to boarding schools, they become less dependent on their parents. 

Next, living at school is beneficial for the development children’s social skills. When children attend boarding schools, they always share the room with other students of the same age. Therefore, they can learn how to get along with their roommates in their daily lives. By contrast, those children who live with their parents are more likely to become self-centered and have problems in communication and cooperation with their peers.                                 

In addition, living in school enables students to concentrate on their study. As students stay at school all the time, there is no distraction from the outside world. Students tend to feel relaxed when they are back at home, where there are a variety of activities that waste their precious time, such as watching TV and visiting relatives. By living in school, they can focus on their study all the time.  

From what has been discussed above, I think that living in school is better for children than living at home.
