Whatever celebrities do can often arouse common people’s attention due to their large popularity. However, when it comes to international aid organizations, people’s opinions differ with each other as to whether the support of public figures makes the concern a blessing or curse. As far as I am concerned, the support from celebrities counts more.

Some people take the view that the attention from public people can highlight the problem form international aid organizations. This is due to the fact that celebrities are living under spotlight and often appear on newspapers and TV programs, which means that what they do will be magnified under the scrutiny of ordinary people. If these brilliant figures set a good example for the public, like raising the funds for impoverished students in remote areas, citizens will think highly of them and thus follow the behaviors of those celebrities. As a result, some heat and serious issues could be solved as soon as possible.

On the other hand, others believe that support from public people may distract people’s attention from the problem itself. As famous figures often live in an extravagant lifestyle and possess huge cars and houses, citizens often think celebrities are wealthy enough to bear the expenses of international aid organizations, thereby freeing themselves from taking the responsible for helping wretches. In addition, a large number of fans just give priority to the celebrities themselves rather than what their idols do in such charity events. This explains why some international aid occasions do not reach their expected outcomes.

In my opinion, it is worth praising that celebrities take part in publicizing the importance of international aid organizations. This is because the celebrity charm makes it easy for famous people to encourage their fans to participate in charity events. For example, after Wen Chuan earthquake, many stars in China organized donation on their own, which made their fans believe that this behavior was a necessity and they then were willing to offer help in disaster areas. However, in order to make these aid organizations more productive, I think these celebrities should make substantial contribution to aid activities, so their fans and other common people will see the hope in their following behaviors.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that it is necessary for celebrities to take part in international aid organizations since this behavior can encourage more people to follow their acts and thus make positive contributions to the whole society.
