應該怎么構(gòu)思科技進步對人類社會帶來的好處和缺點呢，以下就列舉幾個科技類話題的常用論點。首先，在我們寫科技類話題的時候，科技產(chǎn)品或者發(fā)明對于人類社會的好處往往是比它們的缺點容易寫的。我們可以從Individual(個人)+ Groups(機構(gòu))+ Government(政府/社會)幾個角度去構(gòu)思。

第一，從Individual(個人)的角度去想，科技進步對于個人的好處比較好寫的論點有以下幾點：
　　1. 提高效率 (boost/ enhance effectiveness);
　　2. 節(jié)省時間 (save time / slow down the pace of life);
　　3. 增加便捷性 (make our lives more convenient);
　　4. 減少成本 (reduce the cost of…)

第二，從Groups(機構(gòu))的角度去想，科技進步對于工廠或者機構(gòu)的好處比較好寫的論點有以下幾點：
　　1. save the labor / liberate workers(解放工人);
　　2. … will increase the efficiency and productivity of work, especially for the dangerous，accurate and repetitive task.
　　對于上面這個論點，如果后面加上例子將會增加這個論點本身的說服力。一些危險的需要科技來完成的工作有海底勘探石油或煉鋼等;一些精確的需要科技來完成的工作，例如同學們常用的Photoshop或修理鐘表等;重復性的需要科技來完成的工作，最常見的是生產(chǎn)線的使用。

第三，從Government(政府/社會)的角度去想，科技進步對于政府或者整個人類社會的好處比較好寫的論點有以下幾點：
　　1. 發(fā)展經(jīng)濟
　　2. … can push back the frontier of ...(推動尚待開發(fā)的領(lǐng)域)through innovation as an avant-garde (先驅(qū)者).
