Task 1

Talk about a kind of music you enjoy the least, explain why you don't like it.

The type of music that I honestly can't stand is rock & roll. First of all, they are really loud. Musically, rock has centered on the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with electric bass guitar and drums.The noises made by all of the instruments are explosive and the vibrations are amplified by the microphones which can make me mad.

Secondly, rock fashions have negative effects on the followers especially the young. The performers usually express divergent views on sexuality and gender, and rock music in general has been noted and criticized for facilitating greater sexual freedom.

Task 2

Do you think universities in the future will one day stop giving lessons in the classrooms, they might give online courses instead.

I think the universities will continue giving lessons in class in the future.

Firstly, traditional classroom is beneficial for learning because the students can interact with the teacher and their classmates directly. The students like me need constant reassurance that what we do is correct and that we are going in the right direction, so we need feedback to keep ourselves moving.

Secondly, traditional classroom learning provides students with a fixed schedule and specific periods dedicated to learning. This is especially true for students who have difficulty with time management and procrastination. If they choose to learn through the internet, they will waste their time listening to music or do other things.

Task 3

Reading: School should assign roommates base on interest because they can get along.

Listening: the woman disagrees.

Reason 1: She and her roommate have different majors. Besides, one loves sports, and one doesn't. They are still good friends.

Reason 2: The students who apply to change dorm rooms could have other reasons.

按興趣分寢室。不同意，并不是相同興趣的人之間才能交朋友，然后講到她和她朋友完全不同。的確有很多人搬出寢室，但不是因?yàn)榕d趣的原因，一般是schedule、position之類的

Task 4

Reading: Compromise effect- people prefer products with a lower price.

Lecture: The professor uses one example to explain. A type of coffee maker doesn't sell well because people prefer coffee makers with lower price. So, the company added fancy coffeemakers, and then the demand of the coffeemaker which didn't sell well went up.

compromise effect，說人們更偏好價(jià)格適中質(zhì)量中等的產(chǎn)品。舉了一個(gè)生產(chǎn)廚房用品的公司的例子。原來coffee maker只有2 modules，cheap coffee maker & everyday coffee maker 。但是消費(fèi)者不買賬，只買便宜的。。于是公司決定弄一個(gè)高大上的產(chǎn)品，結(jié)果大家都買everyday coffee maker了。

Task 5

Problem: the woman hurt her back, but she still needs to carry a lot of books to the classroom.

Solution 1: She can leave books in the classroom, but she still needs to walk for 20 minutes

Solution 2: she can use other students'books, but she prefers to take notes while reading.

女生搬家具時(shí)hurt back，帶一大堆書不方便。

1. 放宿舍，可是宿舍換過地方，要20分鐘路程

2. share textbooks， 但是女生有記筆記的習(xí)慣。

Task 6

The professor talks about the transplantation of plants.

The first way is to stick to fur of animals.

The second way is to float on water.

種子能夠傳播到其他地方的兩個(gè)physical features，一是舉蒼耳(cocklebur)(這里沒聽太清楚，因該是吧？）的例子，有hook能attain to animal's fur 第二是椰子(coconut)，因?yàn)榉N子能漂在水上，所以可以靠海傳到很遠(yuǎn)的地方。
