I高頻問題及范例回答
1. Are you ever bothered by noise?
No. Not really. Most of the time when I am studying, I am extremely concentrated on my homework. Noises such as car honking, dog barking are generally filtered out by my brain. And in the night, when I need to hit the sack, I can fall asleep within 5 minutes. I have never been disturbed by any noises around my neighborhood. I guess it is quite rare. Haha~
2. Do you think that cities will become noisier in the future?
I am not sure about this question, but my instinct tells me that it may be the case for the future. Cuz you know, in China, the government is trying to develop the cities as much as possible. So they are building new railways, subways and all sorts of infrastructure all the time. You can imagine how noisy it would become when the construction work is undertaken in a city. It is indeed good for the country in the long run, but unfortunately, it would cause the citizens a lot of troubles.

3. What sounds remind you of your childhood?
Well, the first thing jumped in my head is the sounds of raindrops and bird chirping. This is because when I was young, I used to live with my grandparents in countryside. It was so different from big cities. It was green everywhere and there were soooo many birds around. Especially in a rainy day in summer, you could hear birds singing, and the dripping sound of rain. Everything was so quiet and tranquil. But it is a pity that this can never be found in the city I am living now.

1 Do you like toys?
Yea! I LOVE toys! Especially those stuffed toy. They are so fluffy, soft and cuddly. I remember when I was a kid, I had a toy bear, and I just couldn’t get my hands off it! I would take it wherever I went, and even share the bed with me. I wish my bedroom was filled with tons of these cute toys.
2 What sort of people like toys?
Um… This is really difficult to say. But most of the time people tend to associate toys with kids. For boys, it is more to do with toy cars, tanks, those look more aggressive type. However, for girls, it is often Barbie dolls, really girly things. It is just a stereotyped and over-generalized view though.
3 Are toys important to you?
No, not really. Toys are just like accessories to me. It is not like I can not live without them. I am not a three-year-old kiddo, who can only fall asleep with a teddy bear by my side any more. It would be weird for an adult to hold on to a toy like it is his/her life.

本次Part2高頻卡片:好的法律
Describe a good law in your country.
You should say
what the law is
how you first learned about this law
who benefits from this law (or, who is affected by this law)
and explain why you think this is a good law.
參考素材
I would like to describe a law, which is to do with drunk driving. It was amended and came into effect three years ago in 2011. I first heard about it from my dad because he has a car. This law says that driving under the influence of alchohol is a criminal behavior. If people were found driving after drinking alchohol, they would get a serious penalty which includes several months suspension of their driving licenses, being fined with several hundreds yuan, and even a couple of months' detention.
The law is much harsher compared with the previous law on drunk driving. The benefits are obvious. First of all, this law would help reduce the cases of DUI to a great extent, which as a result can keep down the accident rate on the road. Because drivers are not willing to take risks due to the harsh punishment. In addition, pedestrians will be safer because their chances of being hit by a drunken driver are sharply reduced. Actually, it is a good thing for both the driver and the people on the road. Because an accident would not do any good to anyone who are involved in a car accident.
After the law was put into effect, the number of drunk driving cases has fallen dramatically. Roads are much safer with fewer accidents. This new law is definitely making this country a better and safer place to live.

Part3
Part2好的法律對應(yīng)的高頻Part3問題及參考回答
1. What role does law play in society?
I would say law is for order. As you can see, there are always law suits arising from every aspect of our lives, such as traffic accidents, criminal crimes, thefts, the list goes on and on. It’s like everything. The smooth running of society depends heavily on the implementation of laws. People, business, and traffic all have some rules to abide by, thus, making this world an orderly and fair place to live.
2. If there were no laws, what do you think society (or life) would be like?
I have to say the whole world will definitely be in a chaos. I can see in my head how horrible the traffic on the streets may become. Jay walking, cars speeding, no one will look at the traffic lights any more. Car accidents would be happening every second… It would be a horrifying situation. Let alone other aspects of our lives. The scenes must be like what have been described in the book called lord of the flies. So life without law will make the world a living hell.
3. Can you give any examples of what is illegal in China?
Well, the list will be extremely long then. In every aspect of our lives, we are restricted and protected by laws. For example, as a student, we are prohibited to cheat in college entrance exam. For drivers, they are not allowed to drive under the influence of drug, alcohol as I mentioned earlier. The punishment can be quite harsh. For businesspeople, they shall abide by the laws by not evading taxes, bribing government officials… All in all, it is endless.
4. Many people think that an occasional, minor breach of the law is ok. What do you think?
Yes and No. I think law exists for the purpose of making the world an orderly and fair place to live. But life sometimes can be difficult, for example, if some really poor people are starving but couldn’t afford to buy food for themselves and the kids, then they decide to steal some bread from the supermarkets intentionally. Then I think this is acceptable. However, if a person breaks the law for no plausible reasons, and causing damages to others, it should never be ok. Instead, that person should be severely punished.
