大作文：Some people think that environmental problems are too big for individuals to solve. Others, however, believe that the problems cannot be solved if individuals do not take actions. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Those who accept that environmental problems cannot be solved by individuals argue that this  is a global issue that  requires cooperation from the international community. Addressing such environmental problems as global warming necessitates concerted actions by all the countries and sharing of cutting-edge technology  in an endeavor to relieve the level of pollutants caused by human activities. Furthermore, the responsibility of solving environmental problems  should rest with the government rather than the individuals because such issues, intimately linked with rapid advancement of industries and explosive growth of population, can simply be approached by the government.

The argument in favor of the individuals’ necessary contribution to solving environmental problems is that much of the pollution, in many cases, rises from individuals’ everyday activities. The environment is being gravely contaminated by the exhausted emission released from modern technological products such as automobile and air-conditioner when we enjoy comfort and convenience brought to us by them. Moreover, the environmental pollution is aggravated by willful throwing about of wastes or litters produced in everyday life due to lack of awareness of environmental protection. Individuals, therefore, play a pivotal part in protecting environment from being polluted. Only when individuals are willing to undertake their due responsibility for the environment, can the issue be ultimately solved.
